Wolverhampton Three Join Forces Apr 12, 2023

Three long-established sporting venues in Wolverhampton have joined forces to boost each other’s presence in the area. Monmore Green Greyhound Stadium, AFC Wulfrunians and Oxley Park Golf Club – who have all been running for around 100 years in the city – are now offering incentives to their respective customer bases as part of a reciprocal agreement. Racegoers at Monmore, for example, will be able to purchase discounted tickets at AFC Wulfrunians and corporate packages over at Oxley. Joe Edwards, communications manager at Monmore, said: “We’re delighted to be coming together with both AFC Wulfrunians and Oxley Park and having this association. “All three venues have been in the city for decades, so it only makes sense to try to help each other out in a bid to make sure we continue to succeed. “Supporters of AFC Wulfrunians and avid golfers at Oxley Pak may not have visited Monmore before, or not visited us for several years, so hopefully this arrangement will help make those people aware of us – and vice versa.” Customers will be able to take advantage of offers at the other venues using unique codes when making their orders. Mat Clayton, director at AFC Wulfrunians, said: “Hopefully this arrangement will bring a few new faces to the Prestige Midlands Arena, and similarly get more people down to the dogs and more businesses taking up corporate memberships at Oxley Park. “If we can help bring some new business to each other through this venture, we’ll all be very pleased.” Oxley Park accounts manager Robin Evans added: “Hopefully our members will enjoy the added perk which this association brings, with them able to take advantage of discounted packages at both Monmore and AFC Wulfrunians. We look forward to seeing how it all works.” Monmore – also home to Wolves Speedway – run greyhound meetings six days a week and more info can be found on AFC Wulfrunians, based in Castlecroft, compete in the Midland Football League and can be found at Oxley Park opened in 1913 and have around 500 playing members.
