Match Preview – Tividale (H)

AFC Wulfrunians vs Tividale – 24.10.20, 3pm ko

The Wulfs host Tividale this Saturday in a mid table clash between two sides who will be looking for a good result to keep up their great form over recent weeks.

Form:

Tividale – LDWWW

The away side are unbeaten in their last 4 games in the league, winning their last 3 including a stunning 7-1 win over Boldmere St Michaels. On Tuesday they put 4 past struggling Haughmond showcasing the clinical edge to their side, with 3 second half goals edging out the visitors.

Despite this recent vein of form, their early season results were poor as they lost 4 out of their first 5 in the league. Overall after 11 games they find themselves in 8th, with 16 points, which is a good base to start on with a long season ahead.

The Wulfs – WDDWD

After a shaky start to the season, the Wulfs have really found form in recent weeks and are unbeaten in their last 6 league games. Last time the boys made the long journey to Newark, and a battling performance saw us pick up a point against a side who have significant promotion aspirations. Jack Till continued his scoring run with an acrobatic finish on the hour mark. Newark levelled with 10 minutes to go from the penalty spot but neither side could find a late winner as the points were shared.

The last Home game was equally impressive for the Wulfs, with 3 second half goals earning us all three points as well as a clean sheet against Heather St Johns, which the gaffer was extremely pleased with.

Players to watch:

Tividale – Adam Garmeson should be buzzing with confidence after a midweek hat trick against Haughmond.

The Wulfs – Jack Till will look to continue his impressive scoring form over the last few weeks.

Summary:

The Wulfs find themselves 3 points and 2 places behind the visitors in the table, however Tividale have played 3 more games, so it should be a cracking encounter with two teams that will be full of confidence based on recent weeks. A good result would be massive for either team as both look to climb up the table.

The lads would really appreciate your support so try to get down and support your local team.
