AFC Wulfrunians took derby day honours with a 1-0 victory over former landlords Wolverhampton Casuals. Dom Dell’s early goal proving to be the difference between the two sides.
Manager Craig Gregg made a number of changes for the game with Jake Webb making his first start since rejoining the club from Shifnal Town.
The changes seemed to have the desired effect as Wulfs went ahead in the fourth minute. Webb’s free kick from the left was turned back across goal by Jack Downing and Dom Dell produced an acrobatic finish at the far post.
Tom Ray then had a chance do double the lead after a deep Webb corner fell to him at the far post but he blazed his effort over the bar, struck it too well.
Webb was causing defenders all sorts of problems and went close to scoring himself when he shot just wide of the near post from distance.
Another Webb cross from the right flew across goal but was inches ahead of the onrushing Dell at the far post.

The home side had a chance to get back into the game shortly after the interval Soms Sibanda failed to provide the finish when in a good position.
James Thompson then went close for the home side when he struck a 25 yard free kick just wide.
At the other end Chris Knight fed on to Ty Knight but he fired wide but Wulfs had already done enough to secure the three points that strengthened the second place in the table.
