Wulfs held at home

South Normanton Athletic made the long trip to Castlecroft to face high flying AFC and despite their lowly league position were soon on the front foot early in the first half.

On the half hour South Normanton took a deserved lead when Kieron O’Connor nipped in at the near post to finish following a corner.

After the interval AFC raised their game and very soon equalised when Jake Webb headed in a cross from in form Jamaanie Meggoe following great work down the right wing.

Both teams looked for a winner in the latter stages of the game and it was always AFC that looked the most likely, however the game ended as a draw, a fair result but AFC will view it as points dropped as they look to consolidate their top six league position.
