Disastrous Debut
AFC Wulfrunians Under 14s side started the new league campaign off with there first competitive match at the CKW Stadium in disastrous manner. The game was evenly balanced at 0-0 when Wulfs keeper Lewis Fellows pulled up with a groin injury ten minutes in, in what was to bed the start of a bad day at the office. Stand in keeper Simon Cornaby was left picking the ball out of his net within a few minutes of putting on the gloves, a neat finish into the bottom left hand corner from the Aylestone forward. A dubious penalty made it 0-2 and a followed by a quick third. Wulfs did have there chances as they caused problems from set pieces, even having a goal chalked off for off side.
Half Time 0-3
Ian Moore’s side needed to pull there socks up as they came out for the second half but unfortunately it never happened! The game went from bad to worse as Aylestone won first and second balls all over, they pressed hard and attacked with pace as the goal came thick and fast. Lucas Buckley grabbed a late debut goal with a thunderous 25yard strike but it was little in the way of consultation to an embarrassed Wulfs side.
