AFCW 0 Tividale 0

AFC Wulfrunians and Tividale fought out a 0-0 draw at the Castlecroft Stadium, a result that does neither club any good as they continue their battle to avoid the relegation zone.

It was Wulfs who had the better of the first half with Joel Caines first to go close when he picked up a pass from Matt Ellis on the left and cut inside before curling a low shot that went just wide of the far post.

Kyle Brady then had a great chance when he raced on to a Jake Webb flick on but he was denied at close range by Tivi keeper Luke Kriskinians.

Caines went close again with a near identical effort to his first; this time his shot squirmed under the keeper’s body but again fell inches wide of the far post.

Tom Ray was next to go close when his glancing header from a Webb free kick went over the keeper but landed on the roof of the net.

Tividale came out brighter at the start of the second half but it was Wulfs who had the next good chance when Brady’s free kick was headed back across goal by Ray leaving Demetri Brown with a great chance but he screwed his header wide of the target.

Webb then struck the crossbar from a direct free kick before Wulfs had the best chance of the game with just seven minutes left on the clock. Craig Gregg delivered a superb cross to the far post where Brady headed against the post from close range with the goal at his mercy.

AFC Wulfrunians line up: Stanton, Gregg, Caines, Ganderton, Hill, Hunt, Brown, Ellis (Sedgemore 69), Brady (McDonald 87), Webb (Grainger 80), Ray.
