AFC Wulfrunians welcomed table toppers Rugby Town to Danescourt Road for the latest MJPL encounter. Wulfs were looking to bounce back after a disappointing display last week but Rugby flying high with five wins from five games would be no easy match to do it in.

Rugby attacked with purpose from the off putting Wulfs under pressure who were again slow out the blocks. The opening twenty minutes saw Rugby carve open Wulfs all too easy as they took a two goal lead with the second goal coming from the penalty spot. A couple of changes from the Wulfs bench gave the team a lift as Wulfs tried to claw themselves back into the game. Ben Moore show real endeavor to win a ball from the Rugby right back before running with the ball and finishing a fine solo goal to make the score 1-2 at the Half Time break.
The second period was a tough physical battle with both sides cancelling each other out resulting in a half of very few chances. Despite the lack of action in the penalty areas and the lack of football, the battle supplied plenty of entertainment for the watching spectators.
