AFC Wulfrunians hosted there second match of the season welcoming last season’s League Runners-Up CS Colts. Wulfs were still looking to get there season started after last week’s embarrassing 0-8 drubbing to Lane Head.

It was an intense game that saw CS Colts apply the pressure on Wulfs for long periods of the game but Ian Moore’s side had been put through their paces in training this week and brought the same energy and work rate into the game. Against the run of play debutant Kaviel Noel opening the scoring with a strike from outside the box giving Wulfs a 1-0 lead on 13 minutes. CS Colts could have equalized and took the lead before half time but failed to take their chances, instead Wulfs doubled the score line with a second goal on the break just before half time, this time Ben Moore finding the net with a beautiful finish from Dan Lowes pass.

Half Time 2-0

The second half saw more of the same pressure from CS Colts but plenty of work from Wulfs who looked dangerous on the counter attack. CS Colts scored on 48 minutes to make the score 2-1 setting up a tight second half but Wulfs battled to the end on with two minutes remaining sealed all three points, Will Haden with a lovely through ball finding Dan Lowe who stabbed home past the keeper.
