AFC Wulfrunains travelled to Derby to face top of the league Mickleover for the second game in a row. Wulfs knocked Mickleover out of the League Cup at the semi-final stage and knew a tough game was in store as were out to seek revenge.
Wulfs started the brighter of the sides pinning Mickleover back early. Wulfs were parading two new signings in the form of Goalkeeper Jack Walker and Left Winger Jay Sutherland and Sutherland got his Wulfs career off to a flyer! Josh Cooke twice became provider as Sutherland struck twice from close range giving Wulfs a 0-2 lead. Mickleover rallied back and pulled themselves level with two cheap goals from Wulfs point of view leaving it all square at Half Time 2-2.
The second half again saw Wulfs start bright and when a loose back pass gave the Mickleover keeper trouble Ben Moore reacted quickest and pulled the ball back for Jordan Crump to give Wulfs a 2-3 lead. The remainder of the second half saw another tough Wulfs display that was enough to see them to 2-3 victors!
