The cup was in full flow this weekend but Wulfs had earned themselves a bye along with high flyers CS Colts, Mickleover and Walsall Pheonix. CS Colts travelled to Danescourt Road as the two sides meet for the first time this season and were the only two sides in league action.
The first half was highly competitive and there was plenty of quality on the field making for an enjoyable and tight game. Both sides were solid in defense and used the ball well in midfield making keeping the forward lines on both sides on their toes. Wulfs were having the edge over Colts as they pushed for the opening goal, a goal that went against the run of play as Colts took in a 0-1 half time lead.
The second half saw the Colts take advantage as Wulfs became disjointed, there second goal came with a strike from the edge of the area that bounced awkwardly into the corner of net 0-2. Colts then made it 0-3 as they broke down there right hand side, the ball was crossed in only for Eashan Brackenbridge to block the cross with his arm and concede a penalty that was converted with confidence. It wasn’t all one sided in the second period and Wulfs grabbed a late goal as Jordan Crump headed home Ben Moore’s cross. Final Score 1-3.
