AFCW 1 Heanor Town 1

It was a familiar story for AFC Wulfrunians as they were made to pay for failing to take first half chances and were eventually pegged back by their visitors, as the points were shared with Heanor Town for the second time in a week.
It was the visitors who had the first chance; Arash Addollahi rounded Josh Moreton in the Wulfs goal but had his shot blocked by Matt Hunt.
Wulfs had a chance of their own cleared off the line shortly after. Craig Gregg broke clear and had a shot saved but squared the rebound to Jamie King, whose shot was denied on the line by a defender.
They then took the lead on the half hour mark. Jake Sedgemore threaded King through on the left, he delayed his ball to find Matt Ellis’ perfectly-timed run and the midfielder applied a brilliant first-time finish from the edge of the area.
The lead could have been doubled on the stroke of half time, as a mistake allowed Joel Ayettey to break clear but he fired straight at the ‘keeper.
Shortly after the break, King broke clear thanks to another mistake in defence but he again could not find the net as a heavy touch let the ball run through to the ‘keeper.
With 15 minutes remaining, Heanor levelled the game. A poor clearance from King put Moreton in a difficult position and he punched the ball straight to Heanor’s skipper Nick Hall, who powered his shot into the roof of the net.
Wulfs have plenty of chances to win the game late on, with the clearest cut falling to Ayettey. Jamie King brilliantly beat one man before hitting a shot which was blocked, but it fell to Ayettey who fired wide from six yards out.
The games continue to come for Wulfrunians, as they now head to Continental Star on Saturday.
AFC Wulfrunians line up: Moreton, Perks, Sedgemore, Rose-Laing, Ray, Hunt, Gregg, Ellis, Ayettey (Webb 79), Ganderton (Marsh 84), King.
