A tough patch of weather has seen plenty of postponed fixtures during the last couple of months; hopefully Wulfrunians trip to play Shrewsbury Town is the end of the baron spell of football.
Shrewsbury took an early lead when a penalty was awarded following a James Debney tackle was alleged to have been unlawful. The good start gave Shrewsbury something to build on as Wulfs were put under pressure and were second to a lot of the action. Shrewsbury looked dangerous going forward and were also solid at the back and no one could complain if they had gone in one up at the break. However Wulfs had one moment during the first half that showed there class, Eashan Brackenbridge started the move with some excellent defensive work at left back before Wulfs played a quick move through the midfield over to Ben Moore on the right who pulled the ball across for Dan Lowe whose no nonsense finish leveled things up 1-1 Half Time.
The second half was different affair, Wulfs came out the blocks and it was this time them putting on the pressure. Chances were created and went with a combination of some poor finishing and an excellent goalkeeper performance from the Shrewsbury keeper. Shrewsbury continued to look dangerous on the break but Wulfs dealt with the threat well. Wulfs deservedly took the lead when Jordan Crump finished from close range after a Daniel Lowe cross from the right 1-2. Credit took Shrewsbury who never gave in and equalizer with another attack on the break 2-2 Full Time.
An intense game where the players from both sides deserve credit for remaining focused throughout earning a fair share of the spoils.
