AFC Wulfrunians took on Coventry Sky Blues in today’s latest MJPL fixture. Wulfs seem to have also overturned there bad spell but are still trying to play their way back to their best while there opponents Coventry had a difficult start to the season but have seen a recent upturn in form to set up an interesting encounter.
Wulfs started the brighter pressing the Coventry back two, the early pressure was rewarded just six minutes in with Dan Lowe winning the ball on the right hand before playing in Josh Cooke who coolly finished into the bottom corner 1-0. Wulfs could have had the game wrapped early in the this game with their endless amount of attacking but as they failed to do so there were punished as Coventry dug their way back into the game. Wulfs lack of defending on set pieces was again exposed when an unlucky Marcus Dias headed the ball into his own net 1-1. Half Time.
The second half began much like the first with Wulfs pressing but this time they made more of their chances count! Pacey Lawson Taylor bombed down the left wing before playing in Wright-Tennant who laid the ball back for Jacob Harper who struck under the keeper’s body to make to score 2-1. A break from the half way line had Coventry completely exposed with Crump squaring for Moore to tap home 3-1. Crump then turned from provider to scorer smashing home Wulfs fourth from a Harper through ball 4-1. Crump also had a hand in Wulfs fifth and final goal with Dan Lowe making it 5-1. Coventry rallied before the end and had chances to pull a goal or two back but it wasn’t there day. Final Score 5-1.
