Wulfrunians were looking to get there season back on track after three successive defeats and then missing last weekend fixture due to a waterlogged pitch. Thanks go to AFC Telford for assisting in reversing the fixture with Wulfs home ground still in poor condition.

Extreme wind conditions made for an uncomfortable morning for both players and spectators as you struggled to hear the referees whistle above the roaring gales. Both teams made a competitive start but is was Telford who created the important stats, a shot from outside the area was parried by Wulfs keeper Simon Cornaby but Telford were quicker to the loose ball smashing home the rebound into far corner of the net 1-0. Just a minute later Telford grabbed a second with a cross from the right hand side finding  an unmarked man at the far post to make it 2-0. Despite the score line it was Wulfs who began to boss the first half, Dan Lowe first coming close with a shot over the bar, then Ben Moore reacted quickest to Jordan Crumps saved effort but the rebound was controversially cleared off or behind the line! Josh Cooke was next to have an effort cleared off the line after he was put through by Eashan Brackenbridge and then the half came to a close with a hatrick of goal line clearances as Moores in swinging corner almost registered but for Telford’s man on the post. Half Time 2-0.

If the wind was a factor in the first half then I think it’s fair to say that it controlled the second half as both teams struggled to keep the ball in play. Telford wrapped up the points early in the half as Wulfs gave possession away by Telford corner flag, the Telford player rampaged through the Wulfs side running the entire length of the pitch before smashing home 3-0. Wulfs continued to press but lacked cutting edge in the last third, Jordan Crump was brought down late on to win a penalty but Josh Cooke added his name to the list of missed penalties that is becoming an unwanted Wulfrunians trait. Final Score 3-0.
