Wulfrunians first home match of the season saw AFC Hinksford visit Castlecroft. The two sides met three times last season resulting in one draw and two Hinksford victories so Wulfrunians were expecting a real tough test.

Wulfrunians had the better of the midfield battle during the first period with some excellent possession play and testing the resilience of the Hinksford defence. Wulfs opened the scoring with some excellent build up play that saw an attack down the left hand side switched through the midfield as Wright-Tenant played the ball into Moore’s path in the right of the penalty area which he smashed home into the far top corner 1-0. Wulfs soon got a second this time Moore turned provider as he crossed to find Crump smash home from close range 2-0. It wasn’t all Wulfs though, as Hinksford had a dangerous attack that could have changed the game’s outcome, Cornaby was tested and saved a close range effort before Dias cleared the follow up effort off the line. Back down the other end Crump almost made it three but his strike hit the inside of the post and back out again. Wulfs did made it three via a Josh Cooke strike that took an evil deflection giving the Hinksford keeper no chance.

Half Time 3-0

The second half was a more one side affair as Hinksford struggled to keep up the fight in midfield they showed during the first period. Wulfs had plenty of play in Hinksfords final third but failed to take advantage of the dominance. Jacob Harper registered Wulfs fourth and final goal with a bullet header from a Ben Moore corner. Hinksfords best chance of the half came from a long range drilled free kick that took a deflection on the way to goal but Cornaby was again on hand to protect the Wulfrunians goal.

Final Score 4-0.
