Wulfs’ five game winning streak came to an end with a 2-1 defeat at home to Bewdley Town.
The visitors got off to the perfect start as they took a first minute lead when Mike Hyde’s deep cross was met by a Simon Rudd looping header that dropped in at the far post.
Danny Crudgington almost levelled straight away when he latched on to Graham Ashton’s ball over the top but his first time shot flew just over the bar.
Wulfs were further hampered when skipper Jake Sedgemore limped off to be replaced by Mark Tipton.
Andy Mitchell then went close to an equaliser when he headed an Ashley Burd deep corner against the post and then the same player headed wide from a Crudgington corner from the other side.
With the wind at their backs, Wulfs continued to push forward but Bewdley held out comfortably until the break.
At the start of the second half striker Chris Hough had three good chances to increase Bewdley’s lead. First he headed over from a good position, then dragged a shot wide with just the keeper to beat and finally was denied by the feet of Keeper Marc Evans when through one-on-one.
Just as Wulfs thought they had survived those scares, Bewdley increased their lead on 62 minutes when Hough challenged for a ball on the edge of the area and strike partner Richard Burgess ran on to the loose ball and produced an outrageous chip to give the keeper no chance.
Wulfs began to enjoy the lions share of the possession and went close when Crudgington dragged a shot wide after bursting past three players and then an unmarked Nathan Rose-Laing headed Ashley Burd’s whipped free kick wide from close range.
The goal Wulfs desperately needed finally arrived in the 74th minute. Substitute Ricky Anslow turned his man out on the left and squared across the edge of the area for Crudgington to fire a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.
Wulfs went in search of an equaliser and should have got it four minutes from time when Crudgington delivered a low cross in from the left perfectly into the path of Rose-Laing but he scuffed his shot straight at the keeper from no more than 6 yards allowing Bewdley to hold on to pick up three vital points.
