Wulfs crashed out of the FA Vase after a disappointing 5-1 defeat away at Midland Football Alliance side Heath Hayes.
The warning signs were there from as early as the 2nd minute when Ben Haseley broke clear of the visiting defence but was forced wide by keeper Gill and fired his shot across the face of goal before the ball was cleared.
After riding their luck, Wulfs took a 5th minute lead when Danny Crudgington curled home a sublime 25 yard direct free kick.
The lead lasted just four minutes as the Wulfs defence failed to deal with Adam Jenkins’ long ball forward and Dave Waple nipped in to head past the advancing keeper.
Gill then had to be alert to push a deflected Haseley shot wide before saving well with his foot when Owen was put clean through.
The goal that Hayes threatened finally came in the 29th minute when Haseley broke the offside trap again before slotting home.
It was 3-1 in the 37th minute when Haseley picked the ball up on the left corner of the area and cut inside three men before reversing a shot back in to the far corner of the net.
Haseley completed a deserved hat-trick a minute before the interval when his shot from the edge of the area was half stopped by Gill but the ball dropped into the back of the net.
Wulfs were far more competitive in the second half and almost pulled a goal back when Crudgington lifted a neat ball through to Rose-Laing but he fired wide with just the keeper to beat.
Wallis, Waple and Haseley all went close to extending the home side’s lead before they put the icing on the cake with a 5th goal in injury time when substitute Andre Gonzales followed up after Gill had saved well from a fierce Haseley shot.
